How long does it take to do Phi Brows?
Typically, a Phi Brow procedure can take anywhere from one to two hours depending on each client’s individual needs.
How long will Phi brows last?
They last 12 to 18 months, this varies due to different skin types or products used. A top up session can be done to restore the brows to their former glory.
What is the difference between Phi brows and Microblading?
PhiBrows is a Microblading procedure, so it is still a semi permanent tattoo procedure that uses a tiny blade dipped in pigment to “draw” hairstrokes into the brow. .The training for PhiBrows is 100 times more informative, detailed and specific than regular Microblading training. At In Vogue Blackrock Phi brow is our preferred method for these reasons.
Are Phi brows painful?
You can feel the blade, but it's more annoying than painful. The sound was more off-putting than anything. At In Vogue Blackrock comfort is important so we also apply a topical numbing cream to the area prior and during treatment.
HD Brows
Does HD last longer than regular brow tinting ans shaping?
Yes the HD tint is stronger and therefore last longer, a seperate patch test is needed for HD tint and wax 24 hours prior to your first visit.
How long do HD Brows last?
We recommended getting a HD top up every 3 to 4 weeks to help maintain and continue with the process of the first initial HD, treatment. It can take up to several sessions to get the full desired HD look.
What are HD Brows?
HD Brows are a 7 step treatment, tinting, measuring, threading, waxing, plucking, cutting and defining .
Eyelash Extensions & Lash Lift
Are Mink Lash Extensions real mink?
No at In Vogue Blackrock we use synthetic lashes. They are called 'mink as they give a ‘cat-eye’ look.
What is the difference between a lash lift & an Eyelash tint?
A lash lift is a keratin lash treatment that lifts, curls, tints and boosts your natural lashes, no extensions needed! A regular lash tint has no comparison to a lash lift treatment. A lash tint may darken your lashes but it has no effect on curling of your natural lashes. Not only does the lash lift come with a lash tint during the treatment but it also enhances the appearance of the length of your lashes as it curls them up to give your eyes a lift.. The great thing about lash lift is that after the first 24 hours there is no maintenance needed! The lash lift treatment treatment lasts from 6-8 weeks, a regular lash tint may only last you up to 2 weeks.
Are Mink Lash Extensions real mink?
No at In Vogue Blackrock we use synthetic lashes. They are called 'mink as they give a ‘cat-eye’ look.
Do lash extensions damage your natural lash?
In our opinion at In Vogue Blackrock no they don't, not if they are applied correctly and the client is following the correct aftercare advice given by the therapist.
Henna Brows
Can Henna be used for sparse brows?
Henna is perfect for those who have sparse brows as it stains the skin to create a powder filled in look.
Does Henna have to be dark?
NO! We have different colours of tint. We also custom blend the tint to best suit each individual client and their desired outcome. If you don’t want your brows to be dark, THAT’S OK! A lighter tint obviously will fade quicker than a darker one however, again the decision is yours!
What is the difference between Henna Tint & Regular Tint?
Henna Tint lasts twice as long as regular tint. It is also more intense as it stains your skin. There is also more colour choice with Henna tint compared to regular tint.
How long does Henna last?
Like anything, results do VARY, however, most of the time you can expect the skin stain to gradually fade over 7-14 days and the hair tint 4weeks. As I said though, this is not guaranteed. Sometimes, the henna just doesn’t take well to certain people’s skin. Your lifestyle also plays a big part in the longevity i.e. swimming, excessive sweating, using face products on the eye area etc will all result in your henna brows fading faster than usual.
I have had reactions to tint in the past, is henna an option for me?
If you have been sensitive in the past to other tints, it is likely that you may be sensitive to henna tint also. At In Vogue Blackrock we always ensure that you have a 24 hour patch test before treatment.
Is Henna brows for me?
Henna Brows can be applied to anyone but will fade faster on those with oily skin. The length of time the tint stays on the skin is also dependent on your daily skin care routine.
What is Henna?
Henna is a 99.5% natural product that has the power to stain the skin as well as the hair. Unlike regular tints, it contains no ammonia or peroxide’s. It conditions the brow hairs as well as encourages new hair growth. It is also excellent for those resistant grey & white hairs

The only difference between these polishes is the brand. They all can last up to 2 weeks.
Will the lamp used to cure Shellac cause cancer?
No, you get less UV exposure from our nail lamp than you do steering your car. Exposure time is minimal. Here at In Vogue Blackrock we also use LED lights only.
Pedicure Aftercare?
Ensure you have a pair of flip flops to slip your feet into for a few hours following your pedicure - wearing bulky shoes or trainers is almost certain to spoil your therapist’s good work.
Tan
How long does a spray tan last?
In general, your spray tan will last around a week (5-10 days) but it will start to gradually fade before this time. This is because the skin will naturally continue to regenerate itself and old skin cells will be sloghed away to reveal paler skin beneath.
Should I shave myself prior to my tan or after?
You should shave yourself at least 24 hours prior to your tan to ensure that there is no rash or dry skin from the shaving.
Are you able to get a spray tan if pregnant?
Yes. We have a very popular organic tan that we stock in the salon. The Bellamianta is an organic tan and 100% safe to use during pregnancy.
What do I need to do before a Tanning Session?
Before All Tanning we recommend the following:
We recommend you obtain a patch test, if you have very sensitive skin.
Do not use any other self tanning products 1 week before treatment.
Wax or shave at least 24 hours prior to treatment.
On the day of your Spray Tan treatment DO NOT wear any make-up, deodorant, perfume, body oils or lotions as these may react with the tanning agents in Spray Tan.
Wear loose, dark clothing, sandals or flip flops. Relax while your spray tan is expertly applied. The whole treatment lasts less than 10 minutes. Immediately after your spray tan we recommend you allow a few minutes for the tan to absorb before dressing. Initial tan colour you’ll see is actually the cosmetic guide colour.
What do I need to do after a Tanning session?
After an Express Tan:
Wear loose clothing.
Keep skin completely dry, avoid water contact.
Do not apply any products over the developing tan.
Allow tan to develop for the recommend hours
Avoid other beauty/hair treatments whilst tan is developing.
Avoid activities that make you perspire.
Drink all beverages through a straw as contact with a hot cup can strip colour from around your mouth.
How do I care for my tan?
After your tan has developed:
Rinse off remaining colour guide with luke warm water. Avoid the of use products during first shower after tan is applied.
Avoid products that contain alpha hydroxy acids (AHA’s) as they can strip colour. Also avoid oil products.
Avoid swimming pools as Chlorine will prematurely fade your tan.
To prolong your tan use alcohol free shower gel and moisturise as much as possible to lock in colour. This will also hydrate your skin.
Waxing
What wax do you use in the salon?
We use Waxperts Wax in our salon In Vogue Blackrock.
How long does the waxing result last?
That depends on the hair removal method you have been using up until now. It can last up to a month. Ultimately, however, your rate of hair growth is the determining factor.
How long do my hairs have to be to get waxed?
Your hair's have to be at least 1cm to ensure a clean wax. If the hairs are any shorter than that the wax may not be able to grip them.
Electrolysis
How long will electrolysis take?
That depends enormously on how much hair is involved and the client’s compliance with the needed scheduling. Remember, this is a permanent treatment so while it may seem lengthy at first at least there is an end in sight.
Does Electrolysis hurt?
Yes there will be some sensation with electrolysis, but each individual has a different tolerance level. There is usually some discomfort during the actual treatment, but most people find it very tolerable. We are very honest here and want you to feel at ease regarding your first treatment and the way it will feel. Everything possible will be done to make you comfortable.
Does it always work?
Yes but not always on the first try. To best understand this it helps to understand how hair grows. Hair grows in three stages and then falls out and starts over. The hair’s follicle is only present and susceptible to treatment during the first and perhaps the second stage of growth. If a hair is treated during the last phase of growth the effort is wasted because there just isn’t a follicle there to treat. Unfortunately there is no way to know what phase of growth the individual hairs are in. This is why it’s important to return for treatments frequently. If a hair is treated unsuccessfully once and then is given too much time to grow again it will once again pass in to its final (telogen) stage where treatment is ineffective.
What can I expect in terms of visible skin reaction to the treatments?
A mild sunburn appearance should be expected and will last for three or four hours. Putting makeup on the skin immediately is highly discouraged.
